Forbidden Broadway started in 1982 with Gerard Alessandrini, an unemployed actor who wanted to showcase his talents. He assembled his self-written Broadway parodies into a nightclub act which he performed at Palsson's Supper Club in Upper New York City, which became New York's longest running musical comedy revue.
