There have been at least four groups named Institute. A rock band fronted by Gavin Rossdale, now split-up, and a currently active post-punk band from Austin, Texas, Yugoslavian experimental world music collective. As well as one from Savannah, active from 1997 to 2007. (1) Institute was a Sludge Ambient band from Savannah, Georgia. First appearing on Fish Fur Records with the album 13 Planets, Institute was quickly linked up to Yellow Dog Records, a hardcore punk label from Berlin Germany. Read more on Last.fm
