What is a prechorus in music?
A prechorus in music is a transitional section that bridges the gap between the verse and the chorus of a song. It is typically used to build anticipation and heighten emotional intensity before the chorus hits. The prechorus often features a shift in melody, harmony, or rhythm, creating a sense of progression and preparing the listener for the song's main hook or refrain. While not every song includes a prechorus, it is a common structural element in pop, rock, and metal music to enhance the overall dynamics and catchiness of a track. In many cases, the lyrics of the prechorus introduce or reinforce the central theme of the song, setting up the payoff delivered in the chorus. Songwriters use the prechorus to add variety and interest to song arrangements, ensuring that the transition from verse to chorus feels seamless yet impactful, contributing to a memorable and engaging listening experience.

Netta Skog left Ensiferum in 2017 after a relatively short tenure as the band's accordionist and vocalist. Her departure was primarily due to creative differences and a desire to pursue her own musical projects. In public statements, Skog explained that she wanted to explore new artistic directions and focus on her solo career, where she could have greater creative control and personal expression.
