About

Frontman Michael Hobby (23) and lead guitarist Bill Satcher (22), the co-founders and creative conspirators of A Thousand Horses, have been crafting rock music infused with traditional American flavors of the southeastern US for over half a decade. A Thousand Horses blends blues, R and B, and good old slashing guitars, bass & drums in an elixir that comes out tasting of Small Faces and “Exile”-era Rolling Stones. The two became good friends after meeting in a local music store back in 2003 in their hometown of Newberry, SC. Read more on Last.fm

What genre of music do horses like?
While horses themselves don't have musical preferences, the question "What genre of music do horses like?" is often asked by animal lovers and equestrians interested in creating a calming environment for their animals. Studies and anecdotal evidence suggest that horses respond positively to soothing, melodic music genres such as classical, country, and soft rock. These genres tend to relax horses, reduce stress, and promote a calm atmosphere in stables or during transport. Upbeat or loud genres like heavy metal and hard rock, on the other hand, may cause agitation or anxiety in horses.
